We invite applications for two PhD project opportunities to work on social bee behavior and ecology in Christoph Grueter’s group at the University of Bristol, UK.
Project #1 proposes to study the links between honey bee behavior, nutrition & maternal effects. The supervisor team also includes Dr. Sinead English (Bristol University) and Prof. Adria LeBoeuf (University of Fribourg, Switzerland). Project #2 proposes to study how drifting behavior is linked to foraging ecology and colony defense. This project involves field work in the UK, with honey bees, and in the Brazilian Amazon region, with stingless bees. The supervisor team includes Dr. Emily Bell (Bristol University) and is coordinated in collaboration with non-profit organisation Meli (www.meli-bees.org).
